SKIN
CANCER SURGERY
When
a dermatologist
suspects that a
patient has skin
cancer he will
biopsy the site to
get a definitive
diagnosis. If it is
then determined that
a skin cancer is
present, plans are
made for removal.
The majority of skin
cancers can be cured
if detected and
treated in time.
There are a number
of different skin
cancers, the three
most common forms
being basal cell
carcinoma, squamous
cell carcinoma, and
malignant melanoma.
Dr. Kirby recommends
yearly skin exams
for the early
diagnosis and
treatment of skin
cancer.
WART REMOVAL
Warts are exceedingly common and
although they can occasionally
be tough to treat, for the most
part they are easily removable.
Cryotherapy, excision, and laser
ablation are a few of the
treatment modalities that Dr.
Kirby uses to remove warts.
MOLE REMOVAL
Moles or nevi, like warts, are
extremely common. While most are
benign and are removed only for
cosmetic concerns, some moles
are dangerous and need to be
excised to rule out skin cancer.
In the vast majority of cases
moles can be excised with no
scar whatsoever.
